Hi Ryan: Welcome to the car world. I think it's a great combination for you. There's nothing like firing up a B-17 and the like, but you just can't do that every day. I am jealous that you have a convertible that you can drive year round!! I finished the 65 Cobra I had been working on for a few years and the wife is in to the Miata's too. The problem is we have to put them away for 6 months. Enjoy!!!!

Good to hear that you have feelings for your vehicle - if only it were more common!

Watch out for the Top Gear Specials. Botswana and Vietnam were amazing shows . . .

Keep up the excellent blogging!

The irony of this is amazing. After all the years of car crap you listened to spewing from me, its not until you get the Miata that the bug hits you! We could do so much with that car if you were here or I was there. Figures that now that we both have the bug we are separated by 2500+ miles! Check out modified magazine and Import Tuner Magazine and look at the ads, your find lots of fun stuff for your little "girl" car ;)

We will have to talk "shop" next time you call.

Hey Ryan, beautiful to hear how you became a "car guy." I'm from Detroit originally and my Dad (and I) worked for Ford - Dad for 35 years, me (as a temp) for about three. I spent most of my teenage years either working on cars or in the right seat of various souped up muscle cars ranging from Ford Pinto (it was fast believe it or not) 70 GTO RAM air 400, and my favorite Rick's 70 426 Hemi Cuda. Ah, those were the days. I recently sold my 2002 Ford Focus (boredom on 4 wheels) and acquired a Mazda 6 (V6). How do I know it's the right car for me? I immediately got my very first speeding ticket. (Cost me $200 -- it worth every penny.) 'Nuff said. Enjoy brother. And welcome to the club.
